Kansas City is becoming a great art Town!

Kansas City has First Fridays - a monthly art event that happens (you guessed it) on the first Friday of every month. Galleries in Kansas City's downtown Crossroads District open their doors, offer drinks and snacks and allow the public in to see all the new art that the galleris offer! The entire area turns into a big downtown party!

Kansas City also has the National World War One Museum. This museum and monument is the official national monument honoring the fallen of our first World War. The giant 217-foot tall tower has an elevator that allows visitors to get a breathtaking view of Downtown Kansas City.

The city is also home to the beautiful shopping district known as the Country Club Plaza. This shopping area was designed in 1922 and boasts Spanish architecture and European style with lots of beautiful fountains and art.

Kansas City is also the home of both the Jazz and Negro League Museums located in the historic 18th and Vine. The Negro League Museum has legendary Negro League ballplayer (and Kansas Citian) Buck O'Neil as it's spokesman. If Amanda could talk with him - that would be a GREAT interview!

And, of course, Kansas City has World Famous Barbecue! Arthur Bryant's, Gates, Oklahoma Joe's and many others.
